How to use the Photo Size Converter (Inches to Pixels)

  1. Choose the photo size.
  2. Enter the print resolution (300 DPI for best quality).
  3. Read the pixel dimensions and megapixels needed.

How it works

Pixels = inches × DPI. A 4×6 print at 300 DPI needs 1200 × 1800 pixels. Standard photo sizes have different shapes: 4×6 is 2:3 like most cameras, but 5×7 and 8×10 are squarer, so part of the image is cropped unless you resize the canvas.
