Notes for teachers and parents

Part A suits students meeting decimal–fraction conversion for the first time (usually around grades 4–5). Part B adds thousandths and simplifying with larger common factors. Part C practises mixed numbers. Part D introduces repeating decimals and is usually covered around grades 7–8; it uses the algebra method explained on the repeating decimal to fraction page.

A good habit to encourage is checking every answer by dividing the numerator by the denominator — it catches both conversion and simplification mistakes.
